In a conventional Design-Bid construction process, there are two separate entities, a designer who supplies your new homes plans, and a builder who has to interpret and often revise these plans in order to build the home on your lot and to local building codes. The designer and the builder are typically two separate entities who are hired independently by the homeowner.

In a Design-Build construction process, the design professionals and the construction professionals are integrated together as part of the same company. The design and construction process are closely coordinated to maximize efficiency and minimize cost. Your home is designed to your lot, to local codes, and to construction standards and specifications used by the contractors that will build your home. Your home is designed specifically for you, and is not a recycled plan.

During the design process, you are the most important member of the design team.
